Complacency is the executioner of excellence

Complacency is the executioner of excellence

According to a study by Goodman (1985) "Complacency is the executioner of excellence". The Oxford English Dictionary defines complacency as being "too satisfied with yourself or with a situation, so that you do not feel that any change is necessary". In fact ‘Change is Necessary! Development is Imperative!’

In order to reach your desired destination, you must be willing to break the mould, shatter your constraints and let go of the many factors that hold you back. I once came across a statement, which suggested that our greatest enemy is not our friends, family nor environment – infact, Im sure we all know – It's OURSELVES! Fundamentally,  you will understand that regardless of your situation, you must be willing to accept responsibility for your future and circumstance.

A number of us hide behind tasks and situations which we have not experienced or tackled before. We tend to continue to carry out tasks that we feel is comfortable and within our capabilities, whislt we have full knowledge that they impede our growth. Catherine Pulsifer, advised that  "If you remain in your comfort zone you will not go any further". Period!

In order to reach your full potential in  your Relationship, Career, Enterprise, in fact anything! You must be willing to go out on a limb.  Many of us have heard the quote “…go out on a limb, that’s where the fruit is’. (William Rogers) Very true, that is where your reward is!.

I implore YOU to consider waking up TODAY and shake off the shackles of constraints!

I DARE YOU...to do something this week that you have never done before, challenge your self to greatness. Do something that makes you feel uncomfortable. Take that step to advancement. For example, Allow yourself to trust that person, …tell that special person that you love him/her, make an attempt at public speaking or maybe chatting up that handsome young man see everyday on the train.

You must be willing to put yourself in a position where you have to stretch outside your comfort zone, then you will be are forced to expand your consciousness.

Comfort zones are generally referred to as a place where you feel in control, untouchable, safe more importantly comfortable – does that by any chance remind you of your bed? – It is time to wake up and realise that nothing significant is attain unless your expand your outreach. Vincent van Gogh, one of the greatest influence of today's art noted that "what would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?"

Ask yourself Today - What would life be if YOU had no courage to attempt anything?

I leave you with a statement by T. Harv Eker. “Nobody ever died of discomfort, yet living in the name of comfort has killed more ideas, more opportunities, more actions, and more growth than everything else combined. Comfort kills!”

Foundation - Back To Basics

Foundation - Back To Basics

 Morning Champion,

Think about this! Sometimes we are put in situations where we are required to take a stand and make a decision. Our primal instinct automatically evokes our biological ‘fight or flight’ response; so what do you do?

a) Go forth standing your ground; be that formidable character to resolve the situation?

OR

b) Like a tactful General on the battlefield retreat, regain composure, and then strike again?

Surprisingly enough there is no right or wrong solution, either is just. Nevertheless you will perish outstandingly if there is no FOUNDATION to your PURPOSE!!

Lets take a moment, think about a building, when it is being built initially, isn’t it rather strange how so much time, precision and effort goes into securing the foundations before the ‘bricks and mortar’ can be added followed by the cosmetics? - The true test! - Now comes rain, sleet, hail or snow the building remains strong and we all now that if it had poor, unstable, foundations it wouldn’t last for that long.

This building can be personified, now if you wish not to spend the necessary time and effort into ‘building’ and ‘establishing’ your foundations how do you expect to prevail on your quest to greatness?

THINK ABOUT IT, your beliefs are the ‘foundations’, the type of ‘bricks and mortar’ is what constructs your character, and the cosmetics; well that is only attain through your drive and determination to create the best building on this planet: YOU!

Just like a building you can become VULNERABLE to core damage if your foundations aren’t set up correctly.

Sir Richard Branson once said 'Circumstances and opportunities change. The world changes. The only constant is change itself….the first law of entrepreneurial business: there is NO REVERSE GEAR ON THIS THING'

You understand its clear, isn’t it? You need to make sure your foundation is as solid as a rock.

Go to work on your beliefs, in your life you only get ENOUGH time to create your WINNING foundation, you have a limited amount of times; GET IT RIGHT.

A wise man once told me 'go back to basics, build your foundations the best way you can, remember its only thinking, so you don’t have to give it another thought'

Go back to basics; build your foundation better than everyone else there is no wrong time to get it right!!

HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEK!!

Dreams with deadlines

Bonjour Champions,

International author Brain Tracy was quoted as saying "Goals in writing are dreams with deadlines".

Imagine this, after 12 months in the sweltering heat of the Sahara desert, mosquito bites, acute dehydration and all sorts of infections, I find it! I have finally found it. The secret and mystical lamp of wishes. Immediately, I rub the lamp and the magical genie appears and tells me I have one wish and then I must pass this lamp on to a friend. They must also have one wish and then pass it on to another friend. Lets imagine, YOU, are the next recipient of the magical lamp. Now imagine I call you at 2.17am tonight, tell you the story about the magical lamp and immediately ask you to make your wildest desire come true. However, the only condition is that you only have 5 seconds to deciede on your one wish and make that wish.

Question? How many of us would be able in a communicate our truest heart's desire instantaneously. Could you honestly within 5 seconds state that dream or desire?. Probably not!. However, if I ask you what your mobile telephone number is, I am sure you could regurtitate it instantly. Embarassingly Jim Rohn, (One of my favourite authour) suggested that he found it"...fascinating that most people plan their vacation with better care than they do their lives..." I am confident, if half you sat in front of me and I asked you... 'What is your burning passion...?, What must you accomplish before you leave this earth'?, I am sure, I am going to hear the same old 'I want to be a millionaire', I want to travel to every nation of the world, I want happiness, etc. But the question is...DO YOU REALLY WANT IT!

Research suggests that approximately 3% of adults have clearly written goals, but this small percentage of people accomplish more than all of the others put together! Amazing right?

The only one way to achieve your desires, is to make them a reality, make them a part of you. Know and understand your goals a
s Earl Nightingale  suggested "People with goals succeed because they know where they're going." If you do not know what makes you tick, what gets your blood racing...You will never achieve it!

I implore you Today! Write down your goals. There is a magic about writing down your goals.
The act of writing down goals actually helps to impress these ideas into your brain, and you begin to accept that these are realistic goals that you will one day accomplish.

It enables you to pull your dreams out of the mind's realm and translate it into a physical form. Written goals enable you visualise them and plan them clearly. Bentley-Woode suggested that one should
"Decide what they want, decide what you are willing to give up or do for it. Establish your priorities and go to work on it." If you dont know where you are going, how will you ever know when your get there? Think about it!

"The person with a fixed goal, a clear picture of his desire, or an ideal always before him, causes it, through repetition, to be buried deeply in his subconscious mind and is thus enabled, thanks to its generative and sustaining power, to realize his goal in a minimum of time and with a minimum of physical effort. Just pursue the thought unceasingly. Step by step you will achieve realization, for all your faculties and powers become directed to that end." Claude M. Bristol

Just that little bit extra

Just that little bit extra
Good Morning all, let us forget about last week, it’s a fresh start today.
Someone asked me once  ‘’…are you content with life?’’ I replied ‘’…well to be honest with you, something inside of me always wants that little bit extra’’
There is an old saying that reads ‘’…contentment is a form of happiness that goes beyond the fulfilling sense of taste, smell, sound and vision’’.
I am positive that many of you have experienced that feeling of wanting 'just that little bit extra'. Imagine your favourite food; a dessert for instance, I’m sure you’ve had that urge of wanting more and more because the taste is so wonderful and satisfying. Maybe even your favorite cologne/perfume or song, even down to seeing your family, children, friends all being healthy and happy.
For all successful men and women throughout history that have endured that journey to fulfillment of life, it has been that same ‘drive’ that ‘want’ the ‘need’ that ‘little bit extra’ is what has made them the success they were and are today.
Dr Farrah Gray the American businessman and social Entrepreneur always believed in that need for wanting just "that little bit extra" which is why he was so successful and a self made millionaire by the age of around 12 years old. His drive wasn’t always just to amass a huge amount of money it was more so for the love of wanting more for his family and his future, which is portrayed by his philanthropy work.
Ask yourself today why are you living?? What are the reasons that you continue to follow your dreams, are they really important to you??
If so then why wouldn’t you just do ‘’that little bit extra’’ to make certain of your success; why would you settle for contentment when you can have that‘’little bit extra’’
enough so you can give back, the main reason that motivated you in the first place. THINK ABOUT IT!!
"In this life, nothing great is ever achieved without enthusiasm"
Just give that little bit extra it will change your life!
Have a brilliant week ‘Be Happy’
