My intention in this post, is not to inspire a coup against Microsoft or the Trump Tower, but quite the opposite, I am about to set you free!

Find your love...



I have never claimed to be a romantic nor one who has a clue about the ethics of love and relationships. However, if you asked me, to make a statement or give you a definition of 'Love' , I would puff out my chest, I would straighten my back and in my most Shakespearian accent [just to make it sound a little bit more romantic and powerful] I would utter this profound statement "...I have no clue". 

I once read an article, which said, if you can define Love, you clearly don’t know what it is! Love is not something we understand, its portrayed and exemplified in various way, by various people.

I witnessed my brother getting married this weekend and to be honest, it really touched the eye watering nerve. To stand and witness two couples gaze lovingly into each others eyes and seem to get carried away into their own little magical world of private jokes and giggles as they held hands in from of their audience. "You are now husband and wife" said the vicar...and they couldn’t even wait for him to say you may now kiss the bride... Bliss! Do NOT give up on the idea of LOVE and companionship. Cherish and nuture your relationships! 

Many of us have witnessed or been involved in what we may refer to as tragic relational experiences, however I would like to encourage you not give up on idea of love and companionship... as Sara Dessen states “There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.” For those who have experienced love or are currently in love, I am sure you would agree that it has the ability to ...make you so vulnerable. "It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up." (Neil Gaiman) However, this is the risk we are willing to take for the possibility of attaining the greater picture of life long companionship or marriage, happiness and fulfilment.

Be willing to be vulnerable...thats the moment where you are able to give everything you are in order to make your relationship work. We all know relationship can be a daunting exercise, however, they can also be a source of inspiration, support and a shoulder to cry on.

Is there a difference between a vision and a goal?

It took me a while to realise there is, it’s a very small degree in variation but huge effect on the outcome. It sets the absolute successors apart from the average ‘good job, well done guy’!!

Of course it is imperative that goals need to be made, action needs to be taken and a learning process needs to be a result. Nevertheless becoming a visionary is the next stage to greatness it is at the point where you can visualise your goals literally, laterally figuratively; almost in every way shape and form, you have to step into the goal and analyse how it will affect the world around you. You have to have it completely clear in your mind how it will affect the people you love and every aspect of your environment. The more times you allow yourself to view your dreams and your life in this way the more of a visionary you will become; the more greatness you will achieve.

James Dyson, Brian Schmidt, Maria Sharapova, Steve Jobs; all great visionaries from our generation; in their fields; of our time.

There is almost a beautifully disturbing trait in which they all share, the ability to ‘tunnel vision’ not only having the ability to do that BUT also to achieve that pioneering visionary mind-set under immense pressure. Most people will begin to create stories and excuses in their mind; this is futile. They are not aware that as a result they will begin to trick their brains to believe that these stories are true. It will ultimately hold you back and shield your focus from reality; “everything is possible when vision is applied”

Jordan Belfort couldn’t have explained it better when he said, “being a great visionary is having the ability to manage your state”….

Now, what did he mean? It is something that we all have an issue with from time to time. The ability to manage your emotional state will determine the magnitude of how successful the outcome of your vision will be. You have to be able to control your emotions at any one time in order to align the correct emotion to a situation.  It is one thing that the entire great visionary elite will identify to you NEVERTHELESS once mastered you can be unstoppable.

So lets take the time to focus on becoming a visionary, leave the distractions behind you, become a student of emotion manipulation and start today on the journey of your dreams; no one will do it for you!

A genuine question posed in a verse of Kanye West's song 'Dark Fantasy'. Can we get much higher? What do you do think? Do you think you have the ability to climb a little higher? Do you think we can push just a little bit more?

Do you sometimes feel you have reached your optimum capacity? 
Do you occasionally feel that something or someone, in fact most of the time 'yourself' is restricting how high you can get? 

We all feel like this sometimes. Believe me 'We can get much higher and we can reach the top'.

Can we get much higher? I can, therefore you also will!

Thomas Edison, once uttered "Many of life's failures are people who did not realise how close they were to success when they gave up". Climbing that rope towards success can be a difficult feat, however, only real champions look at the cuts and bruises on their hands and keep climbing.

You never know when your breakthrough will occur. Giving up is NOT an option today. Louis Pasteur, the microbiologist credited for his breakthroughs in the anthrax vaccines, quoted '... the secret that has led me to my goal. My strength lies solely in my tenacity'.

‘The Hunger Games’


Imagine your dreams and goals as a 'lifetime league competition' not only with your peers across the whole world but ultimately with yourself. It is an accumulation of games that you will play throughout seasons. Some seasons will go well others will not, in the end you will both win and become triumphant at the top of your profession or you will be relegated to a new division, a place where you will be ordinary! (IF THAT’S YOUR GOAL, STOP READING NOW!)

Each game that you will play has to be treated as if it were the last, blood sweat and tears has to ooze from it, every fibre in your body has to feel the mental and physical pain that needs to be endured in order to reach the last seconds where you can lay down ‘temporarily’ victorious in your achievements.

Any successful man or woman will tell you that the most important time during these lifetime games is what you do within pre-season. It is the work and effort you put in whilst your competition are resting that will set you apart. Whether you are in a business environment where are the first and last one in the office or you are an athlete and the first and last one on the training field, you have to take the training home; what you do off the stage is what gives you that extra inch over your opponent.

It is a battle to the ‘death’ and that’s simply how you must view it; either you WIN or LOOSE.

OKAY…… OKAY I lied, there is a middle ground and that is being in ‘limbo’, it is probably the worst place to be. You simply become inert, you find yourself coasting with no sense of direction and purpose eventually becoming a slave to society on a huge conveyor belt heading for the end of the line.

The hunger games is a phrase that you need to instil in your mind-set TODAY and just the like the film you have to treat your goals as a fight to the death, lets be honest there are hundreds, thousand and even millions of others with the same dreams and aspirations. Simple logic will dictate that not everyone can become a champion there has to be some losers….ARE YOU A LOSER?

Well then, I suggest you continue your training RIGHT NOW, if your in pre season then do everything you can to prepare yourself for the new season; its coming and the way that world has been changing and shaping up its going to be the toughest season yet; YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, ADAPT NOW!!

Do More...


Can you honestly put your hand up and say 'I am working to my fullest capacity'. Probably not! Then the next question is for you...why not? Are you scared your might actually achieve your dreams?


The truth is, regardless of how far we currently push ourselves, we can always work at least a further 1 to 100% harder. Fact!

According to Colin Powell, "A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work". Hard work simply means, pushing yourself past your comfort zones, putting in extra hours into your business, staying beyond your contracted working hours, etc. 

Defining Hard Work is simple. DO MORE!

DO MORE than you did yesterday
DO MORE than your competitors or counterparts
DO MORE than your body or your mind expects

Push past your limitations! The real secret was stated by Lowell Thomas "Do a little more each day than you think you possibly can". If you wish to succeed you must be willing to adopt a new mentally. The mentally that suggests that Hard work is your friend.

No Regrets

Wikipedia describes the term 'Regret' as a negative conscious and emotional reaction to personal past acts and behaviours. According to that definition, regret has the ability to cause an internal negative emotional reaction, which is capable of restricting or limiting future activity. Do you recall ever using these words 'What if I had done it', 'I wish I attempted'. The most common phrase:-

If only I had told him that I loved him!
If only I had tried harder to make my relationship work!
If only I had worked just a little bit harder at work!
If only I attempted to pursue my goals!
Stop looking back and thinking 'Only if' Get on with it!

I have come to realise that there is greater emotional pain associated with regret, than actually carrying out the task. Zachary Scott, the famous American actor once noted in his later years, that "as we grow older, you'll find the only things you regret are the things you didn’t do". Go and live a life of no regrets from today.

I read an interesting article by Dutch Tech Company TNW called "The top 5 regrets people have on their death-bed". Let us make sure we do not end up been part of the statistic saying these things below.

a)  I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
b)  I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
c) I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
d) I wish that I had let myself be happier

If you try and you fail, at least you have learnt a lesson and you are able to try again, however, your inability to attempt the task will leave you saying 'I wish'

Take opportunities when they arise...Make an attempt today. Do not let regret cripple you.

Passion, passion and passion

Passion, passion, and passion

I have heard repeatedly many successful people say this over and over again and since they are all singing from the same hymn sheet there must be truth in it. If you don’t really love what you do any rational human would eventually give up; correct?

They say “every tomorrow has two handles, handle of anxiety and handle of opportunity”; if you woke up today anxious and unmotivated to carry out your goals for the day then I think you have chosen the wrong handle to grab a hold off. The day in which you look forward or even better are so excited about what you are about to do will be the day when you realise that you are honestly fulfilling your passion.

“Your only as successful on the outside as you are in your in your own mind.” - Atkins 1985-

Just like the Samurai you should adopt their creed; "no hesitation, no doubt, no surprise, no fear", it is brilliant in its simplicity. It is the perfect strategy for getting things done and discovering your passion, and in this day and age getting things done is the first hurdle that many people do not even reach. Lets be honest getting things done 10%, 50%, 80% or even 100% is definitely not good enough simply because the successful person ‘in front’ of you has already given 100%, so to win you have to give more; much more!

Repeat these questions, the first answers, your first thoughts about them are usually the most honest ones, and if they are not what you want to hear then you should do something about it!!!

Why would you second-guess yourself, hesitate to take deliberate action on a goal you have set yourself?

Do you find it hard to rebuke the seeds of doubt that are being planted in the fertile soil of your mind?

How is possible that you are shocked to this degree, are you not focused, why is there surprise did you not factor this into your plans?

Do you agree with the acronym False-Evidence-Appearing-Real (FEAR)?

At least if you are on the right path to doing what you are really passionate about then you should have no problem justifying these questions to yourself. If you are completely out of sync with these questions and they are resonating with you in a manner that it is making you feel uncomfortable and anxious then I suggest its time you grab hold of the other handle whilst its still there and move in a direction that is towards your real passion; your purpose in life before you get left behind.

Ideas are a disease!!!


The Idea disease….

Good morning all, the weather in London today is 4°C highs of 17°C, dry with scattered clouds and sunny throughout the day. Pollen count is low, wind speed of 2mph north with very good visibility, so be sure to leave the umbrellas at home but pop the sunglasses in bag for later…

Someone once said that “once it has taken hold of the brain its almost impossible to eradicate”…What could I possibly be talking about?

It is infectious, it is can be time consuming, distracting, it can even deplete your energy to the point of no return; nevertheless we all need one to be successful.

I was speaking to a friend recently who had fallen whim to the idea disease; they were infected with this virus so deeply it had almost broken them as a human. They were not seeing the fruits of their labour, so instead the idea disease began to affect them in the way it usually does when it is not treated with dedication, belief and persistence.

Sun Tzu says, 'Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat'.

There is almost a fine line with this particular conundrum, just like a world star chef at his best the cuisine has to be just right, just like a surgeon the procedure has to so precise and just like F1 driver a small degree of inaccuracy and focus can be cataclysmic. You must not let this disease defeat you!!!!

YOU MUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD WITH YOUR IDEAS - “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” Einstein
It is extremely easy to attain knowledge in this day and age, there are so many mediums one could undertake to expand their mind, yet it takes that much more from an individual to create ideas that if not to change the world then to change their own – TR Woode

Remember your attitude is crucial to your success and existence; in fact IT IS a matter of life and death, we live to be happy, so why not be happy with the right attitude towards your idea.

Finally, successful IDEAS are simple case of trial and error, no one is 100% sure that theirs will work; but they have the belief and the endurance, you will not converge towards success unless you do, learn and refine. It takes ONE just one, the one you have now could be the one or maybe it’s the next one nevertheless keep the ideas flowing; you must….

Back up plan? What the heck is that?

'When you want to succeed as bad you want to breath, then you will be successful' - Sounds a little bit exaggerated, right? However, I think he was definitely onto something here. To simplify - When your desire to accomplish or attain success becomes your main priority - then you are nearly there. You must embody your dream! You must become your dream, live, breath, in fact, become near intoxicated with the idea of attaining your dream to the degree of obsession, where nothing else matters. Get obsessed + Get motivation = equals success

Let me try and say this as simply as possible - Back up plan? What the heck is that?

A back up plan indicates that if option 1 fails, them you have a cushion to fall back on! With no back up plan and the anxieties of failure, guess what happens...you push your mind, body and motivation to levels that you would never have achieved if knew you have options. Follow me!

Get focused and attack your goal with all your might.

Any successful person will let you into the secret of their success. Hard work and sweat! Just push till you break through. As Franklin Roosevelt quoted "when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on". Do not be swayed! Do not change direction! Stay focused. Bernadette Devlin, the youngest woman elected to Parliament stated "Yesterday, I dared to struggle. Today, I dare to win". Her struggles could have dissuaded her from her desires, however, she was consistent and obsessed with achieving her goals that she was motivated to succeed. You too can do it.

It just required the readiness to work hard and consistency to achieve your dream, your big dreams.

Success will never just fall into your lap, you must stay on track and master your skill and trade, Colin Powell suggests that " A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work". Go work hard. Increase your efforts by an additional 10%.

Steve Garvey noted that you must be "...passionate, you must dedicate yourself, and you must be relentless in the pursuit of your goals. If you do, you will be successful".

Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you're willing to pay the price. (Vince Lombardi)

Creating your ‘self-niche’

Bertrand Russell once said, “The problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts”.

In hindsight you could be thinking the words spoken by Mark Twain; “In 20 years, you will be more disappointed in what you didn’t do than by what you did do”….don’t allow this to be the case.

The way in which today’s societies have evolved over the last 50 years has been amazing to monitor. It is almost as if ideas, beliefs, cultures and even peoples ways of life has spun 180 degrees; it is better to not conform when creating new ideas in order to change the world, it is almost ‘crazy’ to have traditional beliefs in certain respects, you are absolutely ‘nuts’ if you fail to try and experience new cultures and its almost the best practice not to conform to the ‘rules and regulations’ of modern societies.

In essence you have to create and rebrand yourself effectively as a niche ‘product’ obviously relative to your goals, nevertheless there is a problem; if everyone else has identified this to be the case then how do you still differentiate yourself from the clutches of saturation? The answer is simple, and it is the way in which I interpret an old Zen proverb, “before enlightenment chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment chop wood, carry water”. To me, once you have become a success in your mind and when ready to apply your force in ‘real-time‘ you have to be assiduous at every conjunction. It is the only way!

I have never come across any short cuts that work without creating new issues…. to do things right you just have to DO THEM. On the periphery of my vision I recall reading wise words that uttered, “if you want your dreams to come true the first thing you have to do is WAKE UP!”SO WAKE UP!!!, realise that we live in a generation of very talented individuals. The person sitting next to you on the train right now could hold the answer to the world next medical break through of some sort, the person who you went to school with may currently be working on the worlds next conglomerate, the guy who you used to date will achieve that accolade he dreamt of, the girl next door will be the world next superstar entertainer….the list is endless. It is these endless feats that should spark a chain reaction in your internal mind system to succumb to the fact that competition is fierce and to win you have to evolve faster than the person in second place, and at worst if you strive for this pole position, you will most definitely finish runner up ahead of billions of others which is not bad – we cant win them all can we; OR CAN WE!

Diamond in the dirt

Have you ever felt disheartened, downtrodden, unsupported? Have you given up? Have you ever succumb to the pounding thought that "I will never amount to much", "I will never be a professional or financial success"  Come on, admit it....I believe everyone single one of us has had our fair share of doubts and discouragement. However, I believe today marks a significant change in your life, career, education and relationship. Follow me!

In order to win in any sphere of life, we must develop the 'attitude' to win. Winning is not a singular occurrence, its a process that must be adhered to. A winner understands that winning requires numerous challenges, injuries, defeats and pressures from various sources. But a winner - is the man that know the answer to this question - 'How do we stand and remain strong when the world, the economy or your current situation seems to be a heavy burden? In the beautiful words of Mariah Carey "...cast your fears aside [be]cause you know you can survive, so when you feel like hope is gone just look inside you and be strong and you will finally see the truth that a hero lies in you". 10,15, 30 years ago, many of us may have had a very interesting, yet unforgettable science lesson about how [supposedly] coal [a dirty, unwanted, often discarded material] through a very rigorous and lengthy process becomes transformed into diamond [one of the most beautiful, edifying, prestigious item anyone could own]. Do you remember how fascinated you were?

Many who believe that natural coals plays a significant part in diamond formations, have attributes this belief to numerous factor including very high temperatures and pressures. Approximately 100 tons of mud needs to be mined to produce one carat of diamond. The lesson here is simple - To reveal the gem within - Pressure is a necessity!

There is no amount of secrets that you need to discover, no amount of soul searching you need to endeavour, no amount of food, exercise, knowledge, material objects etc… that you need, to make life what it truly is. The only thing you need to inscribe into both your conscious and subconscious mind is the term we hear about over and over and over again; HARDWORK, if you haven’t come to that realization already then I suggest you just CHEAT and skip forward to the end result, which is simply HARDWORK.

It takes a certain character to try and follow the creed of a successful person(s) but honestly it takes a ‘mad man’ to really follow the creed of a successful man or woman. There is no point setting the benchmark of your dreams low, it was Donald Trump who said, “think BIG” and he is absolutely correct.

It is frightening to know that there are no short cuts; there are no secret paths that the government have access to and give to special people, you have to really and I mean really grab hold of any opportunity when one presents itself. Almost like a machine one has to become, “people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the one who do” Steve Jobs –

Tomorrow is never guaranteed and yesterday can never be changed so where can we deploy our strategy….well the only realm left is the present; it is the window of opportunity that we live; in real-time.

Our actions and decision that we make affect our future of course BUT surprisingly it also affects our past (think about it)…

If you are going to take one thing away from todays message I would suggest that you understand that “IF YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE READY THEN YOU ARE, THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO IT; BUT IF YOU GO IN WITH ANY DOUBT, WITH ANY HESITATION, THEN YOU ARE AS GOOD AS DEAD”

Defeated!!

The 37th American President Richard Nixon stated a life-changing lesson, by which I would suggest we adopt and make our life motto. He quoted "You've got to learn to survive a defeat. That's when you develop character". It is imperative that we understand and accept the fact that we will encounter challenges, in fact, at times we may find our selves cowering in the [boxing] ring of life, sometimes running from the shadows of failures and many times over-whelmed by failed attempts and endeavours. But according to Pat Buchanan, always remember, "Defeat may seem like a heavy blow that may attempts to keep you down, but please remember - Defeat has its lessons as well as victory".

Every person has had their fair share of challenges, however, the ability to learn from your failures and arise - is the secret ingredient that separate the unfulfilled from the successful. As Facebook files its IPO, the amazing life of its founder Mark Zuckerberg, comes to light. Mark has faced multiple situations that sought to cripple his dream of creating the world most successful social network, however, his determination and resilience - saw him arise as a champion. Richard Branson and Barack Obama are also students of the 'resilience school'.

There is nothing wrong with been knocked down. Staying down is the ultimate problem. Champions never stay down. Are you a champion?

When the going gets tough and you feel like you cant take it anymore, just remember in the words of on my favourite band 'Floetry' all you got to do is say YES" Say YES! Say you refuse to let defeat restrain you from attaining your goals'

Develop a mentality that nothing will stop you from achieving your goal.
