Stop Running

THINK about this for a moment!

“It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities.” Sir Josiah Stamp

Please understand, you can run, procrastinate, neglect, defer from advancing towards your goals and desires, but one day my friend, you will be made to face up to the consequences of not fulfilling your heart’s desire. By procrastinating, you risk, the burden of un-fulfilment, discontentment, relationaland financial poverty and simply put, unhappiness. Renowned author, Alfred A Montapert quoted “Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices.” STOP RUNNING!

I want to show you a way to ensure that you pursue your goals wholeheartedly and make sure you achieve self-actualisation [a theory proposed by Abraham Maslow in the mid 90’s], where he suggested, that an individual can reached his pinnacle or can fulfil his/her individual potential. I’m I correct in suggesting that you desire to reach your optimum capacity?

Get Accountable NOW…

I believe I may have discovered the greatest source of motivation ever revealed to mankind.

…Talk a lot, voice your ideas and goals. Speak it boldly and clearly…

Many of us are scared to voice our ideas, goals and dreams, simply because we fear that we may never achieve them. Correct? Well today is a new day.  Gather a bunch of your closest friends and tell them that –

“I am going to make my relationship work regardless of whatever happens”.
“I am going to be a millionaire by ??? and this is how I am going to do it”
“I am going to attain a 1st class degree and this is what I am willing to sacrifice to ensure this happens” etc…

The psychology behind this basic technique is simple. You become accountable for your words. The pressure is on for fulfil your words.  As human, our words tend to define us and quite generally our word is our bond. Be a person of integrity. Friedrich Nietzsche, stated “It is easier to cope with a bad conscience than with a bad reputation”. By speaking aloud our goals and making sure we follow through on our words, we maintain our integrity and our reputation amongst our peers.

Look at the great sporting professional. Many of them are recognised for confidently talking about what they are going to do and how they intend to do it. For example, legendary undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr has been quoted on numerous occasion, telling his competitors and in fact the entire world, what he intends to do to his opponent. Floyd Mayweather Jr audibly voices his desires, that he must fulfil them. Due to his desire to maintain his integrity and his word, he trains frequently and often harder than many boxers, and is there one of the most successful and undefeated boxer of our generation. Follow suit. Talk that Talk, it will help you Walk that Walk.

By been accountable for your words, you will notice your motivation level increase, your passion will rise and in due time, you will be fulfilling your ultimate goal.

“Accountability breeds response-ability.” Stephen R. Covey

Good Luck
